This is X. Mrs. Harker has already suggested that we share information concerning our stay here and the changes that we've noticed. I have suggested that once we have gathered enough information we can hold a meeting to discuss our findings and figure out a few solutions to some of the issues we're facing.

[ Like the randomness of food, or the rather strange lack of patterns for the Stacks. ]

But first, due to the nature of where I'm from, I have what you can call an understanding of extraordinary abilities granted through outside forces. I've noticed a change in my own capabilities, and I would like to know if others have noticed their own changes as well.

You don't have to tell us what those changes are. All I want to know if any one else has noticed that they have gained a new talent that allows more control inside the Library.

I have noticed a recent intuition for finding books by subject in the Stacks. I hadn’t made a systematic study of it, yet: it just suddenly clicked.

Does anyone have an idea of the cause?

Adaptation to the new environment? Or the effect of the Library's system finding its way into integrating us now we are growing more aware of our surroundings? I wonder if it helps that our desires are pushing for these changes as well.

You already know my powers, as does anyone else back home. "Made by the people for the people" kind of takes out the illusion of surprise.

I wonder what I could do to test it though. Maybe I could fly around the library and see if I feel any slower?

I have noticed that it is easier to find what I am looking for, but I thought that might just be my own skills.

Yes. Just because we are editing books doesn't mean all books will be safe for us.

Adapting to new circumstances should be a talent people are taught in Hero School. Though I think the Commission should be taught it more than any Hero. They're surprisingly stubborn and annoying.

You might just hit a wall or just never find an ending. Try looking for more library like skills. Things with the books themselves or objects here.

So is this a gut instinct you're sharing? Or did you witness something that made you want to share? Other than what you mentioned about your powers.

So, the possibility that this place is bleeding into us, or that we are becoming more aware of it's workings.

It is also possible that this is incentive from the Librarians. If they want us to work in the library, it is necessary for some of us to navigate the Stacks, after all.

But I feel that less likely, as if it were incentive from the Librarians, surely they would want to tell us they gifted us with that insight, and could give us more for our cooperation.

Is it so hard to understand? This is a Library of Unfinished Works, and all things wish to be complete.

You can say that. Or you can also say that I'm paranoid considering every thing leading up to this point.

Still, we need to figure out what abilities we suddenly have since usually that doesn't change unless our Trust has changed.

Hm, maybe. [ There is a sound of someone knocking on a door then a finger snap. ]

However, I have spoken with the assistant over the phone and he made it very clear that whatever we want, we need to get it ourselves. They can give us a starting point, but beyond that it is all on us for further changes.

So while they are incentives, they may also be more of integration into the role of Editor. Reality shaping matter to a more useful tool, if you must.

Normally? I lost count, but even if I did have my full list, I don't tell. It's been that kind of a day until I woke up in the Stacks.

[ Wreck hard disagrees. If they specifically brought Wreck here to help complete the books and whatever else was here--no. Did they not do their research? His power is literally named wreck. He breaks and misaligns things. He was not the one to bring here to give anything its ending! ]

I don't think I've really gained any new abilities, but give me a bit and I can test out my regular ones. I do have to ask, why are you helping to spearhead this? Doesn't this count as work to you?

Reasonably, who knows who might be listening in. Or reading in. But if you have an entire list, you could share one or two? I don't know what's common on other planets.

[ Hadn't he heard the saying that sometimes you have to tear things down to remake them better? Wreck would be an asset if that's what was needed for some of these works. ]

I'm anti-overtime not anti-work. I have my alarm set for eight hours and since this is just four hours into that time, I'm going to work. And since we do not have manuals over what to expect while we Edit materials, I thought that we need to first come up with that.

That being said in a half hour it will be lunch. Have you looked into the kitchenette situation?

I can share the most common ones - the Commission often use them to claim who my next Nemesis is going to be. [ He sounds so so amused by that term, like an adult nodding along with a child's tea party gossip. ]

Object manipulation - that is able to change the shape and properties of an object near me, and Kinetic manipulation or able to change the direction and force of an object in motion.

Change the order. Choose your own enemy. Pick someone who won't expect it.

That sounds remarkably useful. Are there limitations on changing the shape and properties of an object near you? Is it permanent?

Nah, it's fine. It gives me the needed exercise every time I gain a new ability, with the added bonus of imagining just how much their blood pressure is rising.

[ As a member of the salaryman class, anything that makes a CEO grumpy and unable to do anything to retaliate is a win. ]

Limitations? Probably I have to keep an eye on it when in motion but otherwise? Not really. I mean I do have to keep my energy up, so I do drink a lot of energy drinks, coffee and soda. But in all honesty, that stuff isn't hard to get my hands on even here.

You serve for entertainment? Reading what others write doesn't paint a whole picture of what your planet expects of you. I am curious, little more.

Abilities such as this are apparently now illegal, but they are interesting nonetheless. Could you make a coffee become a soda? Or merely change its container? Or its direction and velocity if you threw it at an opponent?
