a simple question; (cw: death/dying discussion)
[An unsigned note appears on the bulletin board, written in extremely neat handwriting. There's a few smudges on it from erased lines, as if the author wrote it over and over again.]
Is anyone else here dead?
[Just five words. No signature. He'll see how this turns out.]

Hard same. I mean. If they did then things would have been much easier back home. Still magic seems to weird stuff

'Magic seems to weird stuff' is not an explanation.

Welp, I wrote that? 'Magic seems to DO weird stuff'. I promise I know how to write I just tend to get distracted.
[Let's ignore how messy his writing is]
And it's not an explanation but what is magic but 'something we don't quite understand yet? Maybe this is some level of second chance, who knows!

I mean 'magic seems to do weird stuff' still isn't an explanation. It has to have rules, somehow.

Magic is stuff we can't explain yet, in my opinion. Like, a blanket statement.
Back where I was I obtained some 'magical' powers but the way I learnt the basics was studying the science behind it. Which, for someone who doesn't like studying is a LOT. I have some small control of water and the best way I can express how I do that is 'taking advantage of the surface tension of it'.
You increase it under your feet at touch, it allows you to walk on water for example. If you ask me to explain how life or soul magic works, though.... duh. Not a single clue.

I don't really know how 'life energy' works either, I guess. And that's what was drained from us.

Huh. That's very much an 'anime' thing, isn't it? I have no idea either, maybe it burns... or steal all the calories you have available in your body? I mean, that's your energy source and all.

I like my 'literature' to be filled with spaceships, lasers and cute painters who totally should be more popular in the franchise they come from. I mean, I feel like if I wanted nonfiction I could just walk outside.... and I already used to spend most of my time outdoors.
Anyway, point is: I'll still leave figuring this stuff out to those who like to think more than I do.
