This is X. Mrs. Harker has already suggested that we share information concerning our stay here and the changes that we've noticed. I have suggested that once we have gathered enough information we can hold a meeting to discuss our findings and figure out a few solutions to some of the issues we're facing.

[ Like the randomness of food, or the rather strange lack of patterns for the Stacks. ]

But first, due to the nature of where I'm from, I have what you can call an understanding of extraordinary abilities granted through outside forces. I've noticed a change in my own capabilities, and I would like to know if others have noticed their own changes as well.

You don't have to tell us what those changes are. All I want to know if any one else has noticed that they have gained a new talent that allows more control inside the Library.

Well... I certainly don't have a magical button for my voice, but I wonder...

What kind of abilities would someone even try to have for a library? Quick reading? knowing the library system? Checking in books on time all the time?

Noticing plotlines. Handling repairs to books. Dealing with pests. That sort of thing.

I wish it would include how to make coffee.

From the tabloids, I thought I read you were more of an energy drink guy, not a coffee guy.

[ Starts laughing. ] I'm a 'all sugary, high caffeine drinks' guy. The tabloids had only caught me with the energy drinks during that one fight and went with it and I never corrected them.

makes sense. Why would you correct them when it'd mean having to get close to them.

If you are in need of caffeine, I'm pretty good at making it taste somewhat drinkable with what they give us.

Exactly. It's not like I have need of better PR anyways.

I always need caffeine, so I'll take you up on that offer.

[ There was a long pause of hesitation before he writes again. ]

Nice, what kind of person would I be if I didn't help someone who needs it?

[ His actions might have lead up to Smile's death. He had a hand in the Ruins Incident. He did lead the Phobiclones in the old slums where he had met Ahu. Nice had a hand in a lot of bad things, but they were not actions out of pure malice.

Nice was just a tool and X couldn't hate the tool for what they were made to do. ]

[ He is praying to whatever deity is in charge of this library that X does not see his expression right now. Because he's currently fighting the urge to let his emotions out and he really doesn't want to. ]

I can see... why you and him were close.

He crashed at my place, drank my beer, ate my left over rice, and called me his friend. So, I guess he rubbed off on me.

[ Have a little secret history of Smile. Also a slight hint that maybe he should also take a page from him and live outside the mantle you're forced into. ]
