I'll be glad my America has passed through the Screaming Twenties into a reinaissance, then, and offer condolences for your situation, but the anime and manga industry is hugely popular in that part of my world, and god bless it for translating Journey To The Core in particular. Having Sonny Wukong introduce himself with "IT'S YABOI" was the exceedingly correct choice.

I was never really into anime and manga. I know Maki and her dad were really into it - something about military tech and transforming robots and heroes. I only really know what I've heard from other students. I was usually reading science books.
