(no subject)

[This is written in a fairly neat handwriting, in a language that may look roughly similar to Arabic to those familiar with it. The paper on the bulletin board has a small note on top, with a lot of space on the rest of the page for people to fill in as needed.]

Since we're all from different worlds and cultures I think there are a few things we should probably get sorted out as a group. First thing should probably be how to address each other. Go ahead and write your name/title/what you want to be called, your gender identifier if that's important to you, and pronouns to use for you.

Kai, he/him

Oh, what a good idea!

Nara'a Sunvara, male, he/him

[There's a note added later, upon seeing some of the others.]

Note that it is pronounced na-ra-ah, not nah-rah. Nara'a is my name, Nara would be my mother's name. The 'a indicates that I'm the first son.

[He's confused? Why do they need to write pronouns? But as much as he's tempted to ignore it, the urge to be socially polite is too strong.]

Ushiro Jun (宇白 順) (family name, given name). Male. he/him.

[And then there's something else written in Japanese next to it. It probably means nothing to people who don't speak Japanese.]

My personal pronoun is ore (おれ).

[Welcome to Sanguinius's slightly flourishing handwriting. How to address him? Watch the point sail over his head. That's a long way up! ]

Sanguinius of the Pure Blood, Primarch of the IX Legiones Astartes, the Blood Angels, sometimes called the Great Angel or the Archangel of Baal, one of Guilliman's Dauntless Few.

Or.

Just

Sanguinius.

Among people other than my own, I use Illumination. I don't mind if people call me Lu, but no other nicknames, please.

As for the rest, people will do what they will.

Yoshizawa Sumire (family name first), English pronouns she/her, personal pronoun watashi.

Using my given name is fine! Some days it is in fact better.

[in neat Japanese script, with rather a lot of kanji and a pronunciation guide in hiragana above the name:]

Torioi(鳥追) Mei(梅). I(ate あて) am a woman. [Then, in English, a little more messy:] She/her.

[Siobhan's script is elegant and looping.]

Siobhan Greenwood. I'm a woman? I suppose that means she/her. And it's fine to just call me Siobhan or even 'Sio' for short. (Pronounced like 'Sha' or 'Shiv.')

[Hm. Hisako uses her brush to write an elegant little proclamation, and then flicks a couple droplets of ink atop because she thinks that looks less stuffy.]

This humble scribe is known as Hisako Godsup.

Let it be known that 'Godsup' is a deed-name of the first generation. As such it is incorrect when used without a personal name. If you must append an honorific, append it to both or to 'Hisako'. 'Lady Hisako' or similar is flattering, but know this: mine is the pedigree and legitimacy of a harbor gull, and I am a woman of no repute.

[She knows she could claim noble blood, who would know! but it's a vaguely repellent idea.]

If your intention is to be more removed and informal 'the Stormwing', 'the Immortal', or 'that bird' work as well.

I am Mr. Hikaru Aozora, personal pronouns he/him or in Japanese “ore.” Should it ever matter, on Mundus I was formally “Ser” or “Maester,” but I’d rather not insist. I was raised in the West, used to a certian informality, and just my first name, Hikaru, is fine.

And thank you for asking.

[ K's print handwriting is neat and precise, almost font-like in its uniformity. ]

My serial number is KD6-3.7, often informally shortened to K for the sake of convenience.

As I'm an android, I'm not sure that I have a gender.
